Westin Kierland Villas- Scottsdale, AZ - June 2017

PLEASE NOTE: THIS REVIEW IS INTENDED TO PROMOTE SALES AS A TRAVEL ADVISOR, I WOULD APPRECIATE YOUR BUSINESS IF YOU DECIDE THIS VACATION IS FOR YOU.

We had the pleasure of staying at the Westin Kierland Villas for 4 nights in June of 2017 for our Anniversary weekend.  I send clients to the Villas and the Westin Kierland Resort often, so it was nice to get a first hand experience at both.   The Villas are very comfortable, we were in a one bedroom unit that had a kitchenette with a mini-fridge, two burners on the stovetop, microwave, plenty of dishes, silverware, glassware for up to 4 people.   There is no oven and the mini-fridge was a bit disappointing.  I've stayed at other Westin Villas before and the 1 bedroom units have always had a large refridgerator.   Overall, the room was just fine for our needs.  The resort offers a variety of activities throughout the day poolside and they do have two pools- the activity pool and the quiet pool.

Compared to other villa properties, this one is pretty small overall.  There is one restaurant on site, which is typical and it's the common bar & grill type of atmosphere.  Personally, I like the atmosphere at the Westin Desert Willow in Palm Springs much better when it comes to the one and only dining experience at the Villas.  Of course, it's not that big of a deal because you are either walking distance or a shuttle ride away to the Westin Kierland Resort.

The Resort is a full service hotel with several pools, slides, flow rider and a lazy river and as Villa guests you have full access to the hotel's amenities and activities.  The hotel guests do not have access to the Villas. There is a golf course, several restaurants, outdoor music in the evenings, really something for everyone.  We came over to the resort two evenings for drinks and dinner.  We had excellent service and enjoyed the ambiance of the resort.  I didn't take any pictures because it was night time and I didn't think they would come out very well.

When staying at the Villas, the shuttle will also take you to nearby Kierland commons & Scottsdale Quarter- both of which are nearby mall areas with restaurants and shops.  We had rented a car for our stay and honestly, we really could have just taken an Uber or taxi instead.   We drove our car once during the stay & spent most of the time at our resort.  WE had dinner outside of the resort one evening but a friend picked us up on her way.  Car rentals in Arizona are very expensive, so if I were to come here again and stay at this resort, I'd probably forget about the car rental.   I'm sure we could have gotten the shuttle to take us to the nearby Safeway to get our groceries for the unit.

Below is a Resort Map of the Villas to give you an idea, as well as a map of their location in proximity to Kierland Commons and Scottsdale Quarter
